JOIN OUR TEAM

More than a job — a place to learn, grow and belong.

At OT4You, we’re building a team of clinicians who care deeply about children, families, their profession and the community they work in.

We’re a locally owned paediatric allied health practice based in Bowen, in the beautiful Whitsundays, and for more than 10 years we’ve supported children and families across our region.

We’re always interested in meeting Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Allied Health Assistance who bring warmth, curiosity, initiative and a genuine willingness to learn.

Whether you’re stepping into your first role after university or bringing years of experience with you, we want OT4You to be somewhere you can build confidence, develop your clinical voice and create a career that is meaningful and sustainable.

You won’t be expected to know everything.

What matters most to us is that you care, ask questions, communicate well, take responsibility for your work and genuinely want to keep growing.

WHAT DOES A CAREER AT OT4YOU LOOK LIKE?

We have deliberately created a workplace where clinicians are supported to develop, not simply handed a caseload and expected to figure everything out themselves.

Depending on your experience and career stage, you can expect:

  • Regular (weekly – fortnightly) face-to-face individual supervision with experienced paediatric clinicians depending on your level of experience.
  • Fortnightly Peer supervision and reflective practice where we work through cases, share ideas and learn from each other
  • A structured and individualised onboarding process
  • A caseload that develops progressively according to your skills, confidence and experience
  • Opportunities to observe experienced therapists and participate in shared sessions
  • Ongoing professional development funding and paid professional development time
  • Practice mentoring focused on caseload management, professional development and wellbeing
  • Manageable and achievable expectations with a focus on quality and sustainable clinical practice
  • Flexible working arrangements that recognise you have a life outside work
  • Access to established assessments, clinical resources, therapy equipment and systems
  • Administrative support so clinicians can spend more time doing meaningful clinical work
  • Opportunities to work across clinic, school, home, childcare and community environments
Meet The Team

Most importantly, you will have people around you. We have an office space that supports team connection and collaboration.

We ask questions, share ideas, work through challenging cases together and celebrate the wins.

YOUR CAREER CAN GROW WITH YOU

We don’t believe professional development should be something that happens by accident.

For early-career clinicians in particular, we want you to be able to see where your career could go.

Building your foundations

Your first priority is developing confidence.

You’ll gradually develop your paediatric caseload while strengthening your practical skills, clinical reasoning, communication and understanding of how to work effectively with children and families.

Supervision is built into your schedule, and you’ll have opportunities to observe, ask questions, work alongside experienced clinicians and reflect on your practice.

Developing your clinical voice

As your confidence grows, so will your independence.

You may begin developing particular areas of interest, contributing to community education and programs, participating in service development and taking greater ownership of your caseload.

Growing into an experienced clinician

Over time, there are opportunities to contribute ideas, lead projects, develop specialist interests, mentor others and potentially step into supervision or leadership roles.

We want OT4You to be somewhere you can continue developing — not somewhere you outgrow.

WHO WILL THRIVE AT OT4YOU?

Clinical skills can be developed.

The qualities someone brings to the team are just as important.

You may be a great fit for OT4You if you:

  • Are curious about how children learn, play, communicate, regulate and participate
  • Build genuine relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Value neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based and family-centred practice
  • Enjoy learning, reflecting and developing your clinical skills
  • Are comfortable asking questions and seeking support
  • Welcome feedback and can use it to grow
  • Communicate openly and follow through on commitments
  • Take ownership of your work
  • Bring initiative and problem-solving rather than waiting to be told every next step
  • Are collaborative and willing to share ideas and knowledge
  • Are playful, flexible and creative
  • Want to contribute to a team rather than simply work alongside one
  • Care about providing high-quality therapy
  • Are interested in building meaningful relationships within a regional community

Paediatric experience is warmly welcomed, but it isn’t the only thing we look for.

A new graduate with warmth, curiosity, accountability and a willingness to learn can make an exceptional clinician.

OUR VALUES

Our values aren’t simply words on the wall. They guide how we work with children, families, colleagues and our wider community.

Connection

We build genuine relationships. With both our team and our community.

Children and their families need to feel heard, understood and respected.

Empowerment

We help children, families and clinicians recognise their strengths, build confidence and develop the skills to move forward.

Learning

We stay curious.

We ask questions, reflect on our practice, seek feedback and continue developing throughout our careers.

Individualised Practice

There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

We adapt our therapy to the individual child, their family, their environment and what matters to them.

Collaboration

Great outcomes rarely happen in isolation.

We work alongside families, educators, support workers, health professionals and community services.

Support

We want children, families and our team members to feel supported to succeed.

That means asking for help is encouraged, not viewed as a weakness.

WHAT WE DO

As part of the OT4You team, you may support children and young people with areas including:

  • Emotional and sensory regulation
  • Play and social participation
  • Fine and gross motor development
  • Self-care and daily living skills
  • Speech and communication
  • School and community participation
  • Executive functioning
  • Parent and educator coaching
  • Assistive technology and environmental modifications
  • Functional assessment and reporting

Our services are delivered across our Bowen clinics, local schools and childcare centres, family homes and community environments.

This variety provides clinicians with broad experience while allowing therapy to happen where children actually live, learn and participate.

WORKING AND LIVING IN BOWEN

Bowen offers something increasingly hard to find — the opportunity to build a meaningful professional career while still having time and space for life outside work.

Located in the Whitsundays, Bowen is surrounded by beautiful beaches and offers fishing, boating, camping, bushwalking, community sport and a relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Work, home, school, sport and the beach are often only minutes apart.

Regional practice also gives clinicians something special — the opportunity to develop strong professional relationships and see the difference their work makes within the community.

You’re not simply another clinician in a large organisation.

You become part of the community you support.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE, NOT JUST CVS

You don’t need to have your entire career mapped out before you contact us.

We welcome enquiries from:

  • New graduate Occupational Therapists
  • Early-career Occupational Therapists
  • Experienced Occupational Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists considering relocating to North Queensland
  • Other allied health professionals whose values align with ours

Sometimes the right person comes along before the right position does.

If OT4You sounds like somewhere you could learn, grow, contribute and belong, we would genuinely love to hear from you.

Come and build a career you can be proud of — while helping children and families do more of what matters to them.
